Limited Edition Color Etching Print by Art Werger

A limited edition color etching with aquatint titled ‘Dog Day Shadows’ by listed Georgia artist, Arthur Werger (1955- ). A stylized urban view, which Werger is well known for, featuring primarily early 20th century architecture, and the view from on high; with vehicles and pedestrians milling about the city streets, illuminated by the summer sun. Numbered 3/35, signed and dated 1987 to the lower right. Werger is a thoroughly skilled printmaker whose work frequently delves into the hyper real, utilizing extremely complicated color processes to dazzle the eye, or imbuing sensuous mezzotints with noir narratives. Werger is a professor of printmaking at Ohio University, and has works in collections such as The Brooklyn Museum, and The Corcoran. He has shown his work all over the world. The print is presented in a white mat and framed in a thin metal frame with silver finish.
