Late 19th Century Japanese Meji Period Ikebana Usubata

A late Meiji period (1868-1912) bronze Japanese ikebana usubata vase. This three-legged container is for use in ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, and features four relief panels with depictions of peacocks, ducks, cranes and long-tailed blue birds. Two small holes grace either side for placing of additional blooms.

- minor markings throughout; patina; verdigris.
