Porcelain Colonial Attire Monkey Musician Figurines
Item Details
A selection of three porcelain monkey figurines wearing Colonial period attire while playing musical instruments. They are hand-painted in bright colors with gilt accents, and include a violinist and a saxophonist, wearing yellow hats. The third monkey in the green tailcoat with a black tricorn hat is crafted to resemble and is styled after the Meissen Monkey Band and bears an unknown maker’s mark to the underside.
Condition
- surface scratches throughout; faded paint and gilding loss; broken or missing instrument to one figure.
