A watercolor painting on paper titled Frances’ Window by listed Ohio-based artist Radia S. Pfingstag (1906-2001). Portrayed with painterly brushstrokes, this work features an exterior view of a window with open blue shutters on a pink brick wall; potted flowers are set below the window; curtains and interior items are visible through the window panes. The painting is signed in purple to the lower right. It is double-matted with white and beige mats, and remains unframed. The artist’s business card with the handwritten title of the painting is adhered to the verso.

Radia S. Pfingstag is best known for her landscape, still lifes and abstract watercolors. She was an active English teacher in Cincinnati, Ohio. She acquired her English and History Bachelor’s from Miami University and subsequently an American English Master’s degree from Columbia University. Pfingstag began her artistic training during her high school years when she assisted to classes at Cincinnati Art Academy and posteriorly returned to painting during the last years of her life.

- painting was taped to mats, but tape has lost adhesion; painting needs adherence to mats; minor residue along edges of mat; remains unframed.
