A Boehm limited edition bisque porcelain figurine Forster’s tern on the wing. Featured is a large delicate naturalistic hand painted porcelain bird depicted flying over waves with wings turned. The piece is numbered 177 of 300. Maker’s mark to the underside. Boehm Porcelain was started by Edward Marshall Boehm (1913-1969), an American sculptor most known for the porcelain birds and wildlife sculptures he created, promoted by his equally well-known spouse, Helen Boehm. Together, the two founded E.M. Boehm Studios. Works created in the studio are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the studio is known for its fine and elegant sculptural work owned by museums, royalty and celebrities worldwide.
