A Boehm signed, limited edition bisque porcelain bird The Great Egret. Featured is a large delicate naturalistic hand painted porcelain bird depicted taking off for flight. The piece is numbered 130. Signed by Helen Boehm and maker’s mark to the underside. Boehm Porcelain was started by Edward Marshall Boehm (1913-1969), an American sculptor most known for the porcelain birds and wildlife sculptures he created, promoted by his equally well-known spouse, Helen Boehm. Together, the two founded E.M. Boehm Studios. Works created in the studio are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the studio is known for its fine and elegant sculptural work owned by museums, royalty and celebrities worldwide.
