19th Century Portrait of Woman Standing at Open Balcony

Item Details

An 19th century portrait in oil on wood board, substantial in size, depicting a wealthy client wearing opulent jewelry and dress while standing at an open balcony. The unsigned painting is skillfully executed paying close attention to the woman’s beautiful features and the exquisite lace at her bodice, cuffs and exposed hemline. The woman is posed standing at a red brocade chair with a parasol while gazing through the open balcony at trees in green foliage. The painting is housed in an antique carved gesso over wood frame in a gilt finish.

Condition

The painting is in fair condition with one small area of paint loss and overall age craquelure while the frame is in fair to poor condition having sustained considerable damage specifically in the lower right corner.
