A pair of reproduction intaglio prints on paper. The loose item is an engraving on paper after a portrait Fordsham Hodson originally by Thomas Phillips (United Kingdom, 1770 – 1845) engraved by James Fittler (1758 – 1835). The matted item is an aquatint print on paper titled Captain Thomas Coram after a portrait by William Hogarth (United Kingdom, 1697 – 1764) . Each item is credited in plate to the bottom print margin and presented without frames.
Condition
- to poor; some wear to the edges of each item; extensive staining to the right of the loose print; foxing throughout the loose print; to the verso of the loose print, extensive foxing and creasing; stain to the bottom left of the matted image; discoloration to the top print margin of the matted image; to the verso of the matted image, some smudges and wear.
