An oil painting on board titled Carrying the Mail in 1867 by an anonymous artist. The piece depicts a mailman on skis going downhill through snow-laden trees. It bears the painting’s title in the lower left corner and is presented in an ornately carved wood frame, wired to the verso for hanging.
