An original oil painting on canvas of a portrait of a woman. This antique Dutch style painting depicts a white-haired woman, with fabric crown and gold tone necklaces around her neck, staring forward with large eyes and closed lips. The woman is posed with her hands resting on top of one other with a rose pressed between her arm against a black background. This piece is in a wood frame with gold tone trim. The verso is marked with the woman’s full name, reading, ‘Maria Catharina Tukenwincflin’ and dated ‘ætatis 48, 1727.’ Maria was 48 years old at the time her portrait was painted.

Condition

- verso shows signs of wear from age. Repairs present, likely in painting also.
