A hand-knotted Tabriz wool area rug. This richly colored rug has a center pendant palmette motif in colors of cream, olive, red and blue. The red background field of the rug has an arabesqued floral and foliate design.
The guard border of the rug features repeating Shah Abbasi palmette designs alternating with racemes of floral elements and trefoil floral sprays on a blue background. It has overcast edges and dense, natural cotton fringe to each end. Unmarked.
