Early 20th Century Louis XV Style Bureau Plat

An antique Louis XV style bureau plat, early 20th century. This fabulous desk enjoys a leather-inlaid top set in a cross-grained mahogany and finished to the edge with fleur ormolu banding and scroll and fleur corners. The mahogany scalloped apron is outfitted with three cross-grained satinwood drawers outlined in ormolu trim and embellished with ornate polished brass pulls. The desk’s cabriole legs are lavishly dressed in ormolu corner sleeves with scrolling foliate feet. The back of the desk is designed in a complementary fashion, albeit without the working drawers.
