An original acrylic on canvas abstract landscape by Hong Yuan Xu (China/United States, b. 1963). This painting appears to depict a serene misty waterfront landscape rendered in a muted palette. It is signed within field to the lower right and presented unframed. It hangs by a wire to the verso.

Hong Yuan Xu relocated from China to the United States in 1989. Most recently, he has explored a monochromatic palette using acrylic paint. The effect ranges from thin atmospheric washes to thick impasto applications providing both visual and textural depth.
