An oil painting on board portrait of Sean Connery, created in 1992 by listed contemporary American artist Bill Angresano. This bust portrait features a frontal view of Sean Connery’s grinning face, against a plain gray background. The painting is signed and dated to the lower right; it remains unframed.
Born in New Jersey, Angresano studied at Rutgers University, the Salmagundi Club, the Arts Students League, and the Reilly League of Artists in New York City. He has been employed as an illustrator and pre-production artist for television and film. Having gained recognition for his portraits, genre scenes, and landscapes, Angresano’s work can be found at a number of institutions including the National World Museum in California, the Bergen County Museum of Arts and Sciences, the HBO television network, and other corporate and private collections.

- to fair; residue throughout composition from previous matting; dark straight lines from previous matting; small holes throughout board; front part of composition is buckling, rippling, and detaching from backing on left side; large stains to the verso, causing backing to detach; small white and blue paint spots throughout composition; wear to edges including bending, fraying.
