An original pen on paper cityscape drawing by Amalie Rothschild (American, 1916 – 2001). This drawing depicts a city hillside with trees, buildings, and light industry. It is signed ‘Amalie Rothschild 1949’ to the lower right and is set behind glass and an off-white mat in a brown wooden frame with a wire to the verso for hanging.
Amalie Rothschild was a prolific painter, printmaker, and sculptor who lived and worked in Baltimore, Maryland. She is best known for her abstract and geometric works and has exhibited in the Baltimore Museum of Art, among other venues.
Condition
Frame has scratches and loss to finish.
