An oil painting on board still life titled Four Plums by well-listed American/Australian artist Edgar Hatten (1929-1990), created in 1979. Enclosed in a beige border, this piece depicts four plums set on a green table against a tan and purple background. The artist’s name, title, and date are inscribed on the verso of the board. The item is presented unframed.

Hatten is known for painting abstract still-lifes and landscapes, integrating mood, concept, visual elements, and drama. He was born in Wyoming and lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He was a teacher at Swinbourne College in Australia, and in California at East Los Angeles College and Citrus College.
