A limited edition color screenprint titled TEN ONE DAY WALKS FROM AND TO KYOTO by British ‘walking’ artist Hamish Fulton (b.1946) best known for works based on his experiences of walks he has taken and depicted in a variety of media. The work features centered and evenly spaced text in orange, black, and white on a burnt sienna background. The full text reads ‘TEN ONE DAY WALKS FROM AND TO KYOTO; TRAVELING BY WAY OF MOUNT HIEI; WALKING ROUND THE HILL ON A CIRCUIT OF ANCIENT PATHS; FIVE DAYS WEST TO NORTH TO EAST TO SOUTH TO WEST; FULL MOON; FIVE DAYS WEST TO SOUTH TO EAST TO NORTH TO WEST; JAPAN JULY 1994’. Numbered 1/40 and signed in pencil to verso. The print is presented floated on rice paper in a silver tone metal frame and under plexiglass.
