An original oil painting on board view from a window by listed Ohio artist Robert Herrmann (1922 – 1996), created in 1955. The painting depicts a red triangular building under blue skies. The building is viewed through windowpanes that are open. The piece is signed and dated to the lower right to the verso; a label from the Collector’s Art Group is present as well. Housed without glass in a black composite frame.
Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous. He is known for his precisionist style and his paintings of architectural landscapes.
