"Ben Hur" Film Prop Metal Kettle Drum Shells

Item Details

A pair of bronze tone metal drum shells, with rounded bases and circular rims. They feature a band of large studs around the outer rims and leather buckles on hooks. These were used as props for the 1959 Charlton Heston chariot epic Ben Hur, as replicas of classical Roman cymbala kymbalon or tambourine drums.

Condition

- there are mineral spots on the sides, some oxidation, and minor scratches and other marks; both are missing heads.
