A fifty-three piece sterling silver flatware set by Gorham Manufacturing Co of Providence RI (1865-). These are in the 1899 designed Cambridge pattern featuring foliate and gadroon bordered handles. This partial set includes eleven dinner knives with stainless steel blades that are marked for the English silversmith firm and retailer ‘Harrison Bros & Howson, Cutlers to His Majesty’ and ‘Alpha Rustless’. Also included are six salad forks, twelve place spoons, and fourteen teaspoons. The handles are monogrammed ‘W’ and the undersides are marked with the three Gorham pseudo hallmarks and ‘Sterling Pat. 1899.’ The total approximate weight, excluding the knives with the stainless blades is 29.23 ozt.
