A reproduction heliogravure print after an original etching titled Self-Portrait with Saskia by well-listed artist Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669). Originally published in 1636, two years after Rembrandt and his first wife Saskia van Uylenburgh were married. The couple is depicted in a quarter length double portrait. To the upper left corner is the artist’s signature and date in plate. Under a single layer of white mat, presented under acrylic in a black frame. To the verso is a descriptive label.
Rembrandt is a Dutch Golden Age painter and printmaker, famous for his portraits and religious scenes. His work is held in a variety of prestigious institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Louvre, and more.
