A grouping of hand-colored etchings on paper from Benjamin William Crombie’s (1803-1847) Modern Athenians: A Series Of Original Portraits Of Memorable Citizens Of Edinburgh. These eighteen prints depict aristocratic men in profile approaching one another on a sidewalk. They feature an embossed border, and a printed inscription denoting book title, plate number, year and names of the rendered individuals.
Condition
- yellowing to pages; pencil inscription to lower right corner; edges of paper torn; prints held together at center.
