An original Georges Rouault exhibtion poster with wood engravings. This is a trial mockup of the cover page of the portfolio published in 1932 containing the text of Vollard’s Réincarnations de Père Ubu illustrated with Rouault’s intaglios and wood-engravings by Georges Aubert after drawings on wood by Rouault. Dated MCMXXXI at the bottom of the sheet. Paper size: 440×330mm. This is a beautiful print, printed with hand set type, from the original block carved by Georges Aubert after Rouault’s drawings. There is one image printed on the front with the text, and also another printed on the backside. The print is presented in a white mat and awaits your choice of presentation.

Condition

Some staining and other wear consistent wit exposure, most notably a coffee colored stain to the top just right of center, also a large scuff mark just to the right of the printed image to the front.
