A vintage RenuLife Violet Ray Generator. This vintage medical device, manufactured by RenuLife Elec. Company of Detroit, Michigan, was purported to cure everything, and was considered a new age electrotherapy device. It was used in the early part of the 20th century, and discontinued during WWI. This is Model M43540 which features six glass electrode attachments, one metal attachment, one control knob for internal and external usage, and one control knob with the ability to send shock waves of 100 volts and 38 watts ranging from mild to strong. The black carrying case features a lock and key, a leather handle, and metal corner caps. An interesting example of medical quackery.
Condition
-untested, the plug is fraying, and the glass tubes show rust around the metal attachments.
