A handwoven and embroidered Anatolian nomadic area rug in a palette of black, pale olive-taupe, peach, madder red and steel grey. This wool rug features a large cruciform element in the center with Ersari-style branched forms reaching into the field. The surrounding field is marked with various geometric designs and outlined with a large triangle form guard border. This rug has raised design elements for a textural element. It is finished with double overcast edges and a natural, undyed wool warp fringe at one end and a bound, braided finish at the other. Unmarked.

- to fair for age; some staining; shows wear with stray threads to selvedges and general traffic wear and fading.
