An original Tuska (1931-1998) cast paper bas-relief sculpture. The piece is created with cast paper and graphite and is presented in a black wooden frame. The piece is signed in pencil by Tuska on the bottom right and is marked on the back 3513. An internationally acclaimed artist, Tuska is known for his painterly depictions of nudes via sculptures, paintings, and reliefs and are highly sought after. His work expresses the influence of the late Impressionist movement of French artist Rodin. The Kentucky based artist was an educator at the University of Kentucky, which commissioned him to produce the bronze figure sculptures Illumine.
