A vintage Louis XVI style desk and chair by Tobey Furniture Company. The cream-colored desk features a rectangular top with a serpentine front edge backed by a serpentine gallery with four drawers and divider slots. Directly below the top are three aligned frieze drawers over two cabinets centered by an open leg compartment. One drawer interior is marked ‘Tobey Handmade Furniture / Established 1856 Chicago’ and the desk rises on turned and fluted legs ending in casters. The lot comes with a Louis XVI style side chair.
