A pair of mezzotints after original works by George Romney (1734-1802) and James Whistler (1834-1903). Featured is a print by Ellen Jowett after a portrait by George Romney titled Emma Hart – Lady Hamilton. Depicted is a woman and dog rendered in an outdoor setting. Also included is a work by Clifford James after a portrait by James Whistler titled Symphony in White, No. 2: The Little White Girl. Depicted is a woman wearing a white dress stand next to a fireplace mantle. Both works are signed by hand in graphite to the lower right corners. Embossed stamps are present the lower left corners. Works are presented unframed.
Condition
- smudges visible on prints; pencil inscription to lower right margin; edgewear; some light discoloration and color fading; tape residue to top margins; some tearing along edges and corners.
