A collection of 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair commemorative dishes. This selection includes a total of four pieces. Featured are two larger plates, one of which depicts a woman to the front surface with a red filigree border and marked to the underside with ‘Compliments of A.J. Child & Son, St. Louis, World’s Fair 1904’; the other with an American scene to the surface with text to the front reading ‘Universal Exposition. St. Louis, U.S.A.’ and ‘The Greatest of All Expositions Commemorating the Louisiana Purchase’ along with markings on the underside of ‘Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co.’. Also included are two smaller plates with a green border and centered building to the surface, one labeled ‘Cascade Gardens St Louis Exposition 1904’ and the other reading ‘Palace of Electricity, St Louis Exposition 1904’; both marked on the underside with ‘Victoria Carlsbad Austria’. An additional miniature silver tone tray is included with a depiction to the front with the text ‘Official Souvenir World’s Fair – St. Louis 1904’ and ‘Palace of Transportation’.

Condition

- wear throughout; larger plates have discoloration staining to underside, some color fading and chipping to the front; smaller plates have some scuffs and scratches to the underside; silver tone tray shows some rust spotting; color fading, scratches, scuffs, and markings.
