Item Details
A colored mezzotint after a painting by Thomas Lawrence (British, PRA, FRS, 1769-1830), titled Master Lambton; The Red Boy. The print depicts the eldest son of John Lambton (later Earl of Durham), Charles William Lambton. The subject is dressed in a luxurious red velvet suit of the period and placed in a naturalistic setting. The plate is signed in graphite to the bottom right corner, E. Wardle and housed is under glass in a double cream matte in a gold tone wooden frame.
