A hand formed red clay sculpture by Russian-born artist Murat Kaboulov (1939-2010). This depicts a nude woman, seated with her legs crossed, reading a book in her left hand. The front of the tapering base in incised ‘MK’.
Russian-born artist Kaboulov studied at the prestigious Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia in the studio of Prof. E Moiseyenko and moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1992. - some scratches all over sculpture, chipping of base but doesn’t effect overall presentation.
