Item Details

An original watercolor on paper titled _Mantanuska II’ by listed Ohio artist Robert Herrmann (1922 – 1996). The painting depicts a truncated view of a ship. It is signed with the artist’s initials in graphite to the lower right. The painting is presented in white matting and wrapped in acetate with an attached descriptive label at the bottom of the mat.

Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous.
