Original Edgar Yaeger Ink Drawing

An original ink drawing by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997), created in 1935. The drawing depicts a reclining female figure. The paper is signed and dated to the lower right. Presented in white matting and wrapped in acetate.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
