Vintage Oak Murphy Office Chair

Item Details

A vintage oak office chair, circa 1930, by the Murphy furniture company of Owensboro, Kentucky. This chair swivels and turns on four casters, and features cast iron hardware for adjusting. It has a serpentine back and a smooth finish. It is marked ‘Murphy 9213, Unincorporated, Owensboro KY’ to the verso.

Condition

— some separation of joints at base; one slat on back loose; uneven and wobbles; marks to wood consistent with age and use.
