Antique Spinning Wheel Rocking Chair

Item Details

An antique mixed wood spinning wheel motif rocking chair. This dark stained wooden piece has a drive wheel worked into the back, topped by the maidens, which are set as a crown to the shell carved crestrail, between turned stiles with ogee finials. The caned seat has a scalloped front, with the spinning wheel’s legs serving as armrests. The tredle and footman have been secured under the seat, between the legs and above the runners. The driving wheel has a metal hand crank to the back. The wood is turned in some parts, and accented by carved double rings in others.
