After Fukaye Roshu Giclee "Pass Through The Mountains"
Item Details
A giclee on paper of an original painting piece by Fukaye Roshu (1699-1757) titled Pass through the Mountains. Originally a six-fold screen, the piece refers to an episode from a 10th-century anthology of poems and prose titled Tales of Ise. The piece depicts the story of a hero, traveling along a mountainous path covered in ivy, who comes across an ascetic who asks him to pass a poem to a lady in Kyoto. Mounted under a double layer of red and black matting, the print is presented under glass in a black and gold tone wood frame with hanging wire present to verso.
