Four A. Graeme Mitchell Original Etchings

A group of four original etchings by well-known Cincinnati physician and artist Dr. A. Graeme Mitchell (1889-1941). The prints all depict architectural scenes; three are printed in black ink and one is printed in sepia. Two of the prints are initialed in-plate by the artist, and two are unsigned. The prints are all presented without framing. Mitchell was a prominent physician in Cincinnati and even served as the Children’s Hospital director at one point in his career. Mitchell was also well-known and respected as a painter and etcher, and attempted to preserve the history of Cincinnati in his work. These etchings are a part of a large collection that was stock for Closson’s Gallery.
Condition
- prints have various amounts of yellowing across and scuffing to margins.
