Arthur Helwig Lithograph "Three Graces"

A color lithograph on paper titled Three Graces by well-listed Cincinnati artist Arthur Louis Helwig (1899-1976), created in 1949. The print depicts an abstract composition in orange and black with discernible parts of figures. It is signed to the lower right and titled to the lower left. Presented in white matting and wrapped in acetate.

Helwig was an active artist for over four decades and an instructor at the Cincinnati Art Academy. During this period he exhibited in galleries and museums in Europe and across the United States. He was president of the Cincinnati Art Club from 1939 to 1941. Helwig studied under Theodore Dorl, Bessie Hoover Wessel and James Hopkins. He worked in watercolor, oils, and numerous printing methods and was also a well-known mural painter. His works are housed at The Cincinnati Art Museum, Chicago Art Institute, The Philadelphia Museum and The Cleveland Art Museum.
