A hand-knotted Caucasian wool area rug. The field is dominated by a diagonal mir-a-boteh striped pattern in hues of red, blue, cream, and black. The central field is framed by an unresolved compound border having a reciprocal band, quatrefoil blossoms, cruciform shapes and checks in the field colors. It has overcast edges and short natural wool warp fringe to each end. Unmarked.
