Victorian Gothic Revival Carved Walnut Writing Desk

Item Details

A Victorian Gothic Revival writing desk in walnut. The front is heavily carved and opens out to reveal a fitted interior with drawers and shelves inside. There is a keyhole escutcheon, but no accompanying key. The legs are turned with two turned side supports. The bottom sides are connected a by a shaped H-stretcher atop scrolled feet.

Condition

Some peeling of varnish and water marks on top. Some scratches. No key. Chipped wood on edge of desk writing space.
