A hand knotted Veramin-style wool area rug from Aga John. It features a scarlet field populated with a large scale pattern of lotus flowers, palmettes and harshang style elements in bright blue, pale ochre, neutrals, pink and indigo, having rectilinear floral sprays and foliate detailing. It has floral guard borders in the field colors, flanking a very wide primary border with a variety of large tree of life and floral sprays with cypress boughs in the field colors. Wool fringe with overcast edge. Rug is tagged to reverse, ‘Aga John Oriental Rugs.’
