A pair of lithographs after original paintings titled La Leçon de musique (The Music Lesson) and L’Innocence (Innocence) by French master Nicolas Lancret (1690-1743). One depicts a standing lute player, performing for two richly dressed women sitting in an idyllic garden, and the other depicts a seated man and woman with a child between before a tall Neoclassical fountain flying a kite. These works are presented under glass in lobed wooden frames painted black and gold, wired for hanging.
Condition
- frames are chipped, glass is dirty, no dust covers, holes in backing, wire will need to be replaced
Dimensions
- measurement of one frame exterior with a frame interior of 12.5" W x 12.25" H; both are of the same size.
