Zao Wou-ki Limited Edition Abstract Color Aquatint

A limited edition color aquatint by Zao Wou-ki (China/France, 1921 – 2013). The abstract image was created using aquatint and drypoint and printed in color with regions of light blue, deep purple and crimson. The print is signed and dated ‘68’ in pencil in the lower right margin and numbered ‘70/95’ in the lower right. Zou is one of the most renown Chinese painters of the 20th Century. He recieved his initial artistic training in China at an early age, then moved to Paris in 1948 where he was influenced by the active artistic community and eventually became a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. This print is matted in white and presented under plexiglass in a thin silver tone frame.
