Rachel Aragon Hand Coiled Acoma Olla Pot

A large hand coiled Acoma Olla pot created in the 1990s by renowned Aroma potter Rachel Aragon (b. 1938). This hand-coiled vessel features a bulbous oval shape and is painted with a black, orange, and off-white abstract pattern. The repetitive design features curving and straight-edge geometric shapes, including the famous Acoma parrot often included in Aragon’s pottery designs. The work is signed in black to the underside and is marked ‘Acoma Potter – Acoma, NM’ on a label.
Condition
- minor stains on painted design; minor wear to lip and base; no cracks found.
