Hand Carved Tagua Panamanian Figurines
Item Details
A collection of four hand carved tagua, or ivory nut, figurines. These were created by Panamanian Wounann and Embera Indian artisans, and retailed through Red Horse Ranch. This includes a figurine in the form of a leopard by Diovigildo Cabrera, one in the form of an octopus by Neido Chumane, a 2003 figurine in the form of a purple pitcher plant by ‘Ismael M’, and one of a hummingbird with a flower by ‘NSC’. These are presented with information on the material, artisans and carving tradition.
