Yoshio Kanamori Woodblock "Butterflies Mountain and Lake"
Item Details
A woodblock on paper by well-listed Japanese printmaker Yoshio Kanamori (Japan, b 1922). This is a classic image by Kanamori, depicting a group of butterflies flying into a moon over a harsh landscape with rugged mountains and a lake in the background. The image is signed in English in pencil on the images, has a printed title in the lower right corner, and a signature in Japanese in the lower left margin. The print is matted in white and presented under plexiglass in a thin silver tone frame.
Condition
print appears to be in good condition, but there is some water damage to the mat along the lower edge of the frame. some scuffs to frame and scratches to plexiglass. not examined outside the frame.
