Antique Victorian Staffordshire Spaniel Mantel Dogs
Item Details
A selection of two Victorian era Staffordshire Spaniel mantel dogs. The similar dogs are styled in seated poses facing the same direction. These antique Staffordshire Spaniels feature glossy white pottery bodies with hand-painted yellow eyes, beige or black muzzles, black, and gray accentuation on their paws and to the embossed curly coat texture. There is pale gilt detail applied to the larger dog’s collar and leash. The pieces are unmarked to the underside.
Condition
- surface scratches; crazing; loss of painted detail; faded gold tone painted detail; chips; firing holes can be seen to reverse.
