Hand-Colored Lithographs After Original Female Portraits

A pair of hand-colored lithographs after original female portraits. Included are two individual prints on rag paper, titled Monique and Saying Grace. The former, which is unattributed, depicts a woman in aristocratic clothing posing against a gradient background. It is matted white with a crimson and gold tone border with a cream linen accent in between. Saying Grace, painted by Alexander Hohenlohe Burr, features a young girl praying before a meal with her dog looking on. An inscription denoting title, artist, publisher and medium are seen in the lower margins. Both prints feature a hand-embossed plate mark.

Condition

- Saying Grace has a stain in the lower left corner; pencil inscription found to lower right corner. discoloration present; Monique contains stain across the lower left and top right corner.
