Item Details

A hand painted and decoupaged wooden French Provincial style cabinet by Richard and Maggie Mantia. It features a white floral pediment on an arched top, a tall, narrow body with a fitted door and a bottom drawer with a serpentine front and dovetail joinery, and clawed feet on casters. The door is painted with a stocky chef preparing food, as well as a black and white checkerboard pattern trim around the perimeter. ‘Mantia’ is signed at the bottom right. The shoulders are painted like faux tan marble and decorated with travel memorabilia decoupaged within checkerboard trim. The bottom drawer is painted a gray faux marble with red and green pepper handles, with brown and black checkerboard and animal stripe patterns on the top and bottom aprons. The legs are painted with a faux leopard pattern. Opening the door reveals a decoupaged interior with five glass shelves.
