Item Details

A hand knotted Kashmar-style vase carpet. It features a central medallion with a landscape scene of structures and a river, with trees and a small water fowl in a palette of blue, green, red, and orange. The indigo blue field has an ornate pattern of vases and flowers in pink, red, blue, orange, and green, with colorful birds scattered throughout. The main border has a floral pattern of lotus flowers and trefoil flower sprays on a scarlet red field, flanked by medahil and interlocked braided patterns in the field colors, with overcast edges and hand-tied cotton fringe to each end. It has leather strips affixed to the underside to prevent curling, and is unmarked.
